March’ ing Forward In 2021

Wow! How busy has the last month been?

Since our last meeting, with the lovely Lynn Barrow in February, we have see Valentines day – and thanks to the inspirational paint along tutorial, we all had our very own love birds to either share or appreciate for ourselves. We had a craft along with Jenny Cook, which was so amazing it ended up running over two classes because we just loved it so much. We had superstar committee members appearing on local radio and national telly news, one meeting up with a Royal family member. Members featured in March’s WI Life’s TALES from the FRONT LINE. Jammy Hookers. We’ve had World Book Day and International Women’s Day! Our very first Zoom Meditation Class. Lots of Tea and Jam & Jam Sandwich catch ups during the week … she takes a breath … And to top all that off, ITS JAM DAY again TODAY! YEAY!

Lots of concentration faces going on in this photo of February’s paint along meeting with Lynn Barrow. I’m sure you will agree the results are stunning !

Here are some Super Awesome Ladies you may very well recognise on World Book Day

Here are just some of the gorgeous Wrap Bracelets we produced between us a couple of Wednesdays ago. Beautiful as a Share the Love gift, or just as beautiful as an I Love Me gift lol – Thank you Jenny, I cant wait for the next class! keep your eyes open ladies for more details!

The first Thursday of the month is, of course, always reserved for Hookers! A chance to sit and set the world to the world to rights, discuss everything and anything woolly and finally plan world domination Mwaa ha ha. Keep your eyes peeled for a world record attempt coming to a town near you! Again more details to follow soon.

Marilyn Stanley left and Nicola Butler top right.

And I hope none of you missed the fabulous Tales From The Front Line article by Sarah Drew Jones in this months WI Life, featuring a few members you may also recognise. Nicola Butler and ‘MUMTOOOOO’ as I like to shout out when ever I see her – yes even in the middle of Sainsbury’s, ESPECIALLY in the middle of Sainsbury’s. Us southerners need to stick together you know lol! Anyway – and her beautiful Mum Marilyn Stanley, both long time members of LMJ. And if you didn’t manage to catch it before sending your WI Life off to the recycling pile, then shame on you. Go fish it out. They, and the others ladies are all doing, and have done, a fantastic job of keeping us all going during some very challenging times – You Ladies are the very reason we have International Women’s Day (well it should be but I’m bias) And I was also very proud that Waste Management Services managed to sneak in there too – well done Vicki Harris from Across The Plain WI. Well done and thank you to all the ladies in the article.

And the amazing Lisa Mansell held a wonderful relaxation and meditation hour that went down a storm with the other members who were able to attend … strangely enough… I don’t have any photo’s of that… I think everyone was far too relaxed to worry about it lol

Join us at 7.30pm tonight as we hear from Zara Frankton and Ben Young from the Ecology Team at Severn Trent Water. They’re going to talk to us about Severn Trent’s exciting project, ‘Our Great Big Nature Boost’. Zara will talk to us about Severn Trent’s Biodiversity commitments and the work they’re doing, then her colleague Ben will talk to us about how we can improve habitats for nature in our own gardens. For more information, you can visit their webpage: https://www.stwater.co.uk/about-us/environment/great-big-nature-boost/ or their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/OfficialSTW/?ref=page_internal

Of course there will also be lots of love, laughter and hopefully (for me anyway) WINE!

And Finally don’t forget Queenie …

…this Monday night consider yourself BOOKED! 8pm, Zoom details available on the day, on the LMJ Private page.

So until next time…

Stay Jammy
