Morning all – Its Friday, Its Jam day and its Christmas!!! So grab a cuppa or a glass of mulled wine and put your feet up, coz there’s lots going on! Oh my days I’m so excited!
But firstly, our November Meeting, and WOW! We were overwhelmed by how many of you lovely ladies joined us on the night. It was wonderful to see so many smiles from ladies we dearly miss. Not just the ladies that joined us for the first time, we miss ALL of our members. So when we can get together, there is just so much to talk about.
And it is just so wonderful, and an absolute privilege that there is always someone who has been there, who can offer help or guidance, who can lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or even a joke to lift spirits!
We, my friends, are the single, most Bad Ass Birds I have ever met in my life. We ladies, are truly AWESOME !
Talking of Awesome, how many of you finished Novembers Craft from the meeting? Im really sorry to admit that this is one of the few crafts I could not get my head around. Personally, I blame the warp and waft! I just could not Cross Stitch in a fashion that made straight lines curve (check the beautiful bauble design) and indeed any line go in a strait line, while doubling back on my line to make the X … I got confused and it got lumpy! That said there were some amazing results from the rest of the gang. Check um out…

Our December WI meeting is today, Friday the 11th! Join us for some Christmas Shenanigans! We’d love to see your Christmas Jumpers so dress up for the occasion. Either go all out with your posh frocks, sparkly jeans or Christmas jumpers over Pj’s. We’ll be looking forward to seeing you and what you’ve done to, or what your planning to do with your Jam post Christmas wreath ring, I’ve finished mine and will be proudly showing it off!
He’s Making a List, He’s Checking it Twice!
Today is also the deadline for getting your Secret Santa gifts to the your lucky recipient, in time for the meeting. Hopefully, if you are taking part, you’ll have received yours by now, if not, there’s still time. I will be opening mine live on air, and NO! I can’t wait until Christmas! Though you can, if you want. Lots have all ready been delivered but if you are really struggling to get yours to where it needs to go, please let us know asap and we will see what we can do to help.
Today, Friday, is also the deadline for dropping off any donations to our annual Christmas giving. I did say there was a lot going on didn’t I! I’ve re-shared all the information you need below.
So it really isn’t too late to get your donations in. As a group we have always been so generous at this time of year and I think you will agree, these charities are more then worthy of our attention and support, especially after what 2020 has thrown our way. Please see the above poster for your nearest drop off location and we will be proud to do the rest.
16 Days of Activism
Standing together – 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. Our wonderful el Presidente Carly has been sharing relating posts on the main Jam Facebook page regularly, so if you have missed them, make sure you go check them out.
🎄 Christmas Countdown 🎄
And finally, as we’re getting into the spirit of Christmas (Well I know I am!), every day on the private LMJ group we are sharing the countdown calendar (Thank you Rebecca Brown for taking the time to put that together for us and for talking us through the cross stitch craft) that was in your fabulous Jam mail newsletters.
We know that you’ve all got it pinned to your fridge right? So each day we’ll post a reminder and we’d like you to tell us or show us what you’ve been up to. There are already lots of photos on the main page of all the crafty things everyone has been getting up to but we would love to see more. Basically, we would love to see YOU and your creations.
And, if that wasn’t enough, over on the main Jam Facebook page – we are posting every day about a different member telling us all about their Christmas traditions. Thank you Julie for sorting that out. Please go take a look at these and maybe get to know your fellow members a little better, ready for our fabulous return to meetings next year.

Other goings on
On Wednesday, 16 December from 19:00- 21:00 Jenny Cook will be holding another Craft Master Class when she will be showing us how to make these little guys. If you’d like to find out about availability or have any questions, please feel free to head over to the LMJ private page and drop us a DM and someone will get back to asap.
As you no doubt know, we’ve also got Jammie Hookers on the first Thursday of next, and indeed, every month, at 7.30pm via Zoom. We’ll post the Zoom link on the day. So, join us for a gossip and a brew, maybe a gin or two and you could even do some crochet! But you know that’s not compulsory!
We will also be scheduling in a Jamanory session too at some point, however we are not sure at this point if this will be in January or postponing it to February. The book up for discussion then will be A fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. Set in an unidentified city in India, initially in 1975 and later in 1984 during the turmoil of ” The Emergency, the book concerns four characters from varied backgrounds who come together and develop a bond – Its won awards you know!
