Lets Make Make Jam can So-Sew

On Thursday 2nd July we sent our craft guru – the amazing Gemma and her assistant Beki  off to So-Sew to earn some extra pennies for our craft budget. Amanda the  So-Sew president had attended our 9 square quilt master class at the Leopard, and thought her members would love the experience.

The cake at So-Sew looked AMAZING (sorry Jam bakers!) but somehow I managed to miss out on the chocolate and raspberry cake baked by Chloe, but did have a very generous handful of haribo to provide ample energy for the evening!

Gemma showed the basics of quilting by hand, and shared her history as a textile graduate, to a room of 30+ women she did an amazing job I was really proud of her! Demonstrating the intricate work required each member received an individual pack containing their personal squares thread template ruler pencil and needles, each being able to complete a perfect 4 square quilt by the end of the evening. There was lots of love for the mini seam iron with some admitting its the most ironing they have done in several years.

The mini quilts are going to be combined into one giant So-Sew Quilt by one of their members Andrea – how amazing will that be!!!
