Let Stoke Eat Cake.

On a very wet Sunday morning we hung the bunting, ironed the table cloth and greeted 17 wonderful members all carrying cake. We had cake pops, fresh cream Victoria sponges, Bakewell tart cake, chocolate muffins, carrot cakes to name just a few. The sweet smell of vanilla, fruit and jam tempted the other stall holders for a little morning treat before the doors were opened. We were ideally placed by the tea and coffee, and people lingered over their morning drinks enjoying our cakes. Children got covered in chocolate, parents did a little shopping, the jam girls sold the benefits of Sunday afternoon cake. For the first time we offered a gift box service, which proved very popular! The rain continued and we sent Julie onto the street with free samples (and an umbrella)  to tempt passers by, while  we stayed dry and warm having cuddles from a guide dog in training – little Yoda.
