Well ladies our first County Show is looming and we have a number of competitions to enter. Let’s rock this abstract styleee girls…..

OVERALL THEME OF ALL DISPLAYS ‘A ROYAL OCCASION’

Class 1 Co-operative Produce: Theme – Street Party
Three items of produce using three different methods. May include wine making, confectionary and preservation. Please see also guidlines three and four. Items must be covered before judging. Accessories may be used. All items will be removed for judging and replaced uncovered. WI names and titles may be left with the steward and will be replaced after judging. No titles will be displayed. This entry MUST be the work of more than one memeber. To be staged on a base board not more than 2’6”/76cm by 2’/61cm deep, height unlimited. To be viewed from the front. The table will be covered and backed in dark green fabric.

Class 2 Co-operative Handicraft: Theme ‘A Royal Occasion’
Three items of craft to be staged on a base board not more than 2’6”/76cm wide x 2’/61cm deep, height unlimited. To be viewed from the front. All items will be removed for judging and replaced uncovered. WI names and titles may be left with the steward and will be replaced after judging. No titles will be displayed. This entry MUST be the work of more than one memeber. Plese state on mark card if any item is of original design. No art work allowed in this class.
Oe cookery, one craft and one flower exhibit.
Class 3 Group Competition: Theme – ‘Afternoon Tea For The Diamond Jubilee’
Three items. One cookery, one craft, one flower exibit. All items will be removed for judging and replaced uncovered. WI names and titles may be left with the steward and will be replaced after judging. No titles will be displayed. This entry MUST be the work of more than one memeber. To be staged on a base board not more than 2’6”/76cm by 2’/61cm deep, height unlimited. To be viewed from the front. The table will be covered and backed in dark green fabric. A card naming all the WI’s may be left with the steward.

Class 4b Produce: MARMALADE SEVILLE ORANGE

Class 5 Novice Produce: SHORTBREAD FINGERS
Display 5 on a plate with a doyle.

Class 6 Handicraft: EVENING BAG

Class 7 Novice Handicraft: JEWELLERY FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION

Class 7a Handicraft: KNITTED OR CROCHET TEA COSY
To be displayed on a teapot.

Class 8a Floral Art : DIAMOND JUBILEE

Class 8b Floral Art: A COUNTRY WALK

Class 9 Novice Floral Art: AN ARRANGMENT IN A WINE GLASS
Space allowed 18′ square – height unlimited. Table covered and backed with dark green fabric.

Class 10 Children: A CROWN

Class 11 Photography: A ROYAL CONNECTION
A photograph, mounted, no larger than 10”/25.5cm by 8”/20cm (including mount). Please provide own stand.

Class 12 Art: A PAINTING OF FLOWERS

THE RULES

HANICRAFT CLASSES – Please attach a small piece of crd to your exhibit using cord or tape, approx. 3”/7.5cm long. Your entry number will be put on this and not on the show bench.

All labels should bear the full date.
New lids and jars should bear no trademarks.
Sugar Preserves – fill to the rim. Vinegar Preserves fill to within 1/2”.
Chutney should be made at least 6 months in advance.
Please note how all craft entries have been made.
No artificial plant material.
All staging to be free standing – nothing to be attached to the back cloth. Back boards can be used.
No prishable foods such as seafoods, pate, raw eggs, cream, meat or cream cheese.
It is not advisable to use sugar-paste, royal icing, paper crafts or anything else that may deteriorate in damp conditions.

ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE STAGES BY MEMEBERS ONLY BETWEEN 9AM AND 12 NOON ON TUESDAY 5TH JUNE. Try to finish your exhibit within 30 minutes.
EXHIBITS MUST NOT BE MOVED BEFORE 5.30PM ON THURSDAY 7TH JUNE.
ALL PRIZES PRESENTED AT 2.30PM ON THURSDAY.
